This is a film about the Nation of Yahweh, a group of radical Black Hebrew Israelites who built a thriving religious empire in 1980s Miami while committing tragic acts of murder, rape, and ritualistic terror. We want to know how a religion built on hope could end so tragically, how they avoided accountability for more than a decade, and how an ultimate failure of justice continues effect the people in the communities that lived through their reign. The documentary will focus on the history of the group, the aftermath of their eventual prosecution and attempts to regrow their organization, and the possibility that a similar situation could occur again.
